Straight answers

What changes when converting VTT to SRT?

SRT re-numbers every cue, uses comma milliseconds (00:00:01,000) instead of dots, and drops the WEBVTT header. Cue settings like position metadata are removed because SRT has no equivalent.

My VTT has hours-optional timestamps like 00:01.000 — is that handled?

Yes. Timestamps without an hours field parse correctly and are emitted with full HH:MM:SS formatting in the SRT output.

Will it work with VTT exported from YouTube or Descript?

Yes, and auto-generated files get cleaned up in the same pass: sound-event junk like [Music], empty cues, and overlapping timings can all be fixed before conversion.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no watermark, and nothing is uploaded — the conversion happens in your browser.
